Pivotal Tracker Backlog Prioritization with Ducalis
Pivotal Tracker is great for planning and doing the work. But a default priority field is a weak way to rank a backlog: there are no shared criteria, no team estimates and no score you can explain to stakeholders.
Ducalis has no native Pivotal Tracker integration, so the stories move through a CSV file: import them, score them with the criteria your team agrees on and take the ranked list back. Pivotal Tracker was retired in 2025. If you are moving the backlog out, its CSV export is the file to import.
How to prioritize Pivotal Tracker stories
- Export the stories from Pivotal Tracker to a CSV file. If export is not available on your plan, copy them into Google Sheets and download the sheet as CSV.
- Import the file into a Ducalis board and map the columns to issue fields. See CSV import.
- Choose a framework or your own criteria and invite the team. Each teammate scores the stories against the criteria, and Ducalis calculates the priority.
- Export the ranked list to an Excel-friendly CSV and update the order in Pivotal Tracker. See Export data.
